The CLF is being used in lots of different ways by individuals and organisations across the social services sector.

East Lothian – Community Care Workers |
|
|
East Lothian Council Social Work Service has recently completed a CLF pilot programme with some Community Care Workers. This has been evaluated and the recommendations are currently being followed through.
The aim was to provide CCWs with the opportunity to enhance their practical skills and knowledge to become CLF champions and to help develop the service into a learning organisation.
Whilst the purpose of the programme was to:
- Inform the Strategic Implementation of the CLF
- Improve partnership working with others
- Improve the induction experience of new staff within Adult Care
- Develop generic working skills to support career progression, staff development and the ability to cope with increasing service demands.
Comments from participants included
“Chance of working with colleagues to provide information I felt was missing in adult social care for new staff joining the team”
“Showed challenges the service would need to meet to promote job rotation, got people thinking of how we would overcome this”
“Once rolled out, is it mandatory, it has to be”
